Ready to travel the world and get paid generously to do it? It’s pretty much everyone’s dream. However, there is a company that is now officially making it a reality.
Now Hiring: Chief Nomad Officer
Shift, which claims to be the power browser created to organize all of your web apps into one easy-to-access window, is accepting applicants for their brand-new chief nomad officer position.
They will travel the world for one month, starting in early October, and will use the browser to power their new nomadic lifestyle for 30 days.
According to an article in Forbes about the position, the new chief nomad officer will be required to share their unique content on Shift’s social media and blog and create a digital nomad guide to help others who want to travel and work remotely.
Sounds good right? So, what about the pay? Well, it will come at $10,000 for the one-month gig, or an equivalent salary of $120,000 per year. Not too shabby.
Expanding With The Digital Nomad Lifestyle

A number of companies are creating products and services to cater to the rapidly expanding digital nomad trend.
Ever since the pandemic, and the resulting work from home phenomenon occurred, more people are looking to remain working remotely despite the call from many business leaders to return to the office.
As this occurred, more and more countries are also welcoming the practice by making it easier for digital nomads to move to foreign countries and obtain a special visa to live there.
In fact, according to a FlexJobs survey, 85 percent of millennials say they want to work remotely 100 percent of the time. In another study by Upwork, an online freelancing platform, an estimated 36.2 million US professionals will work remotely by 2025.
So, How Do I Apply?
Great question, to officially apply for the position, prospective chief digital nomad officers should apply this month by publishing a 60-second video on their TikTok or Instagram describing why they want to be Shift’s new executive and tagging the company’s account and adding hashtag #ShiftCNO.
Competition is expected to be fierce with candidates from all over the world. So, the company recommends that applicants show some creativity in their social media post which will quickly attract the attention of the company’s hiring team.
“What we’re hoping the Chief Nomad Officer will share is an inspiration to others who have always dreamed of living and working somewhere else but perhaps have been scared to take the leap of faith,” said Shift’s Vice President of Marketing Sabrina Banadyga. “There’s no better time than now to grab your passport and computer and embrace the freedom a remote job can offer.”
It would probably be a good idea to somehow incorporate use of the product into the pitch social media post as well. That way digital nomads can showcase how they would actually demonstrate the product to other potential nomads.
Just what a chief nomad officer would do to drive sales. Good luck and happy travels!
